This A2 Bomber Jacket pays tribute to the original Flying Tigers, the "Legendary" American Volunteer Group (A.V.G.) assigned to assist and protect China from Japanese invasion during World War II.

The A.V.G consisted of the A.V.G 3rd Pursuit Squadron ( the famed Hell's Angels ), led by Arvid Olson, Jr. There was also the A.V.G 1st Pursuit Squadron ( Adam and Eve ) and the A.V.G 2nd Pursuit Squadron ( Panda ). The pilots of the A.V.G flew the Curtis P-40B Tomahawk against great odds and developed many of the fighter tactics used later in the war. In the first 35 days of combat, the A.V.G destroyed a total of 73 enemy aircraft losing only 3 of their own pilots, a better than 20 to one ratio. In total, the A.V.G officially confirmed 286 Aerial Kills against a loss of only 13 men. An extraordinary record for the times and the circumstances.

During their brief 1941-1942 service history Burma -China theater the Flying Tigers carved a niche in aviation's hall of fame with the wars first American Triple Ace and eight double Aces. The A.V.G. proved without doubt, the enemy could be beaten in the air.
